I’m absolutely shocked to realise what primary school kids in Ireland are reading about #autism.

For 4th class, impressionable kids of around 10yrs.
- Wishing for a pill to take autism away
- Wishing he was a “regular” brother like a friend has
It’s a sibling perspective, which is absolutely valid but this is a truly damaging approach to take and does the very opposite to promoting inclusion.

Dealing with the #COVID19 crisis when you’re autistic - some advice.
Most important: heed public health advice applicable to your region.
Public health is the medical specialty which deals with this issue and the public health doctors are the experts.
I’m not a PH doctor.
Wash your hands well & often
Cover your coughs & sneezes
Don’t touch your face
Travel restrictions
Social distancing
Self isolation if exposed
However, some of that advice to avoid #COVID_19 will impact us differently to non autistic people, and that’s what this thread is about
