Justice for all killed/tortured/impacted by policing is when there are no more police killings, torture and terror. This means we must end the systems that require a government that uses murder, torture and terror as how it operates. We cannot separate policing from capitalism. US capitalism which we know was born out of the massive spoils of slavery and enabled through massive genocide of the indigenous population. The Chicago Police Department was formed 3 yrs before the incorporation of Chicago as a city and 3 years after the Black Hawk war.

A lot is happening in Chicago. Mayor Lori Lightfoot Emanuel gave over 65% of CARES Act money to CPD. Today, the Office of Inspector General released their report on the uprisings where it is revealed how Lori is directly responsible for the brutality. igchicago.org/2021/02/18/rep… Page 55 documents how during the May 30th protests, CPD refused a person their seizure medication, watched them collapse and threatened another detainee with violence if they moved, presumably to assist the person having a seizure. Footage then records a cop threatening rape.

This is a must watch video of Chairman Fred Hampton. A fave. Incredibly important critical analysis of strategy and tactic. We had intense dialogue about this during the uprising where these tensions were heightened. This is a very divisive issue and is used expertly by COINTELPRO to disrupt processes and orgs.

This is just getting started!!

Watch live on Facebook: facebook.com/watch/live/?v=… We are now hearing a recording from incarcerated torture survivor, Stanley Howard, who was tortured by Jon Burge and has been incarcerated for over 37years.

Stanley was a part of the Death Row Ten and was exonerated but yet remains behind bars.

This is an important point and also consistent with how fascism historically has arisen. It is always supported first by the ruling classes, despite classist stereotypes. That is because fascism rises out of the crisis of capitalism - it is a response and attempt at reconfiguring U.S. empire is in crisis. We can see this crisis developing in acute consistency throughout the last 10+ years, from the global economic crash, to global insurrection against police killings, to the failure of US capitalism to forge a response to COVID, to resulting unemployment

In an hour, we will be holding a press conference outside City Hall with @thewapb @BwopC @BlkRemembrance as part of the Nia Collective for #AnjanetteYoung.

We are demanding an end to all home raids by CPD.

At 11 City Council will hold an emergency hearing on search warrants. @thewapb @BwopC @BlkRemembrance For the next hour, we will share info on Chicago police raids as well as dive into recent cases that illustrate the horror that is imposed on families that are overwhelmingly Black and brown.

Police raids are racilalized, & class based, attacking Black, brown poor communities.

It may not come as a surprise, but one of the topics we get asked about most frequently is intracommunal violence. That's right, this week we're actually going to talk about "Black on Black crime." But don't worry, it's still #Fuck12Friday Since the recent uprisings began, it seems like there are more people than ever before who want to talk about violence in Black communities when we bring up #defundthepolice. #Fuck12Friday

Hey everyone, we're going to be doing a new thing we call #Fascism101Wednesday

This campaign will provide weekly information on historical fascism and its direct link to the U.S. settler colonial state in 2020

Today, we're going to start with, what is fascism? 1/ Fascism is a form of far-right, authoritarian ultranationalism characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition, as well as strong regimentation of society and of the economy which came to prominence in early 20th-century Europe.

Welcome back, y'all. It's already two weeks after CPD chose to attack black & indigenous protestors in order to protect a hunk of rock, that symbolizes Colonialism and White Supremacist Pillaging. Can you believe it? #Fuck12Friday We here at BLMChi want to keep the solidarity going, this week by telling you a little bit about the Palestinian Freedom Struggle. #Fuck12Friday

Welcome back to #Fuck12Friday! Today we are talking about Homan Square and lifting up the demands of @BlkAbolitionChi to #CloseHomanSquare! This week, we heard about federal agents disappearing protestors in Portland, and preparing to head into Chicago. Welcome back to #Fuck12Friday!! We're proud to see Chicagoans keeping up the energy and continuing to come out to the streets. We're in this for the long haul! Lori Lightfoot's increased CPDs budget by $100 million dollars, but now she's using our voices speaking out against police to say that's not enough. She's calling for more increases as part of her reform. #Fuck12Friday #LiarLightfoot

Today in one of the worst miscarriages of justice ever seen, Judge Hennelly reversed the Dec 18, 2018 ruling to vacate Gerald Reed’s conviction & sent him back to prison to serve out the remainder of his sentence.
This system is not for us. We must overthrow it. #FreeGeraldReed Gerald Reed was tortures so severely that CPD broke a metal rod in his leg causing him to now be in a wheelchair. In 2012 the Torture Inquiri Relief Commission unanimously found a preponderance evidence of torture, a rare ruling enabling Gerald to get an evidentiary hearing.
