Shouts out to the teachers and parents from SMS and Hunter who came through on tonights PEP to discuss the problems at the MLK campus. While I agree that being int the basement and never having natural light is a problem, jt is a function of these small schools sharing old bldgs What needs to happen is a simplfying of the high schools in NYC. An end to the lies of many themed schools that have a sell by date and crash and burn. We need stable schools that are well staffed with teachers not admin.

My eyes are tired from side eyeing and eyerolling at the blatant gaslighting of teachers, the weaponizing of parents against teachers, comparison of nurses vs teachers, and all the lies folk are telling themselves with #hygienetheatre #wewontdieforDOE I have to ask why these pinterest teachers are spending their own money to make pandemic education look cute, while still placing kids next to each other, in schools where masks are not required. we are supposed to go back in a month In this magic world envisioned by Cuomo and Deblasio employers will allow parents to just come in some days and not other days, and the employee (parent) will be allowed to say what days they need off *every week* to watch their kids while they're on their remote days...

Admin: Yes, and no.
Teacher: How are we expected to be able to afford enough supplies so that students don’t have to share without having Teachers Choice money / supply funding?
