The consequences aren’t theoretical—they’re impacting people right now. A roundup of the stories Republicans DON’T want you to hear: (🧵) In Wisconsin, MAGA Republicans are trying to enforce an abortion ban passed in 1849.

This has hindered doctors’ ability to act. One woman bled for 10 days after an incomplete miscarriage because ER staff would not remove fetal tissue.

Elected officials have a responsibility to back up what they say with their votes—so anyone who claims to support families, affordable health care, and action on climate should vote accordingly.

Why @SenatorSinema should vote for the Build Back Better Act, in her own words: (🧵) In 2018, Sinema shared her powerful story of growing up in poverty— "what happened to my family is very common...we’re gonna fix it.”

BBB extends the Child Tax Credit—which we’ve already seen lift families out of poverty. 1.5 million kids in Arizona stand to benefit.

90,000 Americans are dead.
1,400,000 confirmed U.S. cases.
36,000,000+ unemployment claims filed.

Trump had plenty of warning, but he failed to act to slow the spread of the pandemic.

@StaceyAbrams takes us back in time to explain Trump’s failed coronavirus response: SABOTAGING PREPAREDNESS:

In the years leading up to this crisis, Trump closed the White House pandemic office and proposed budget cuts to pandemic preparedness.

Then, he ignored key warnings from experts as coronavirus spread in the Wuhan region.

Trump calls himself “the greatest jobs president that God ever created.”

About that... WAGES: Despite Trump’s promises, it’s clear 2.5 years into his presidency that the economy is NOT working for American families—it’s working for billionaires and millionaires like Trump.

Corporate profits continue to soar while wages remain stagnant.

Thousands of workers from the @GM Lordstown plant have been left to fend for themselves after the plant's closure—jobless in a community that depends on a plant Trump said he’d save.

@NYTmag shows the devastating consequences of Trump's broken promises:

nytimes.com/interactive/20… On the campaign trail, Trump promised autoworkers in the Midwest that their jobs were safe.

Instead, he gave companies like GM massive tax breaks. Then came the plant closures and layoffs.

As Attorney General Bill Barr gets set to testify today, here’s what we know:

He knowingly lied about the contents of the #MuellerReport to protect Trump.
He lied to the American people and to Congress.

Here are the receipts to prove it: 1. Barr said that Mueller’s report found no collusion, which isn’t a legal term or a criminal charge.

FACT CHECK: Mueller’s report details multiple brazen incidence of collusion. It is damning for Trump and his team.

THREAD: Attorney General Barr’s woefully insufficient summary doesn’t include A SINGLE full sentence from Robert Mueller’s report.

But one of the half-sentences he cited makes it clear: The Mueller report “DOES NOT EXONERATE” Trump. Barr’s summary of Mueller’s findings leaves behind far more questions than answers.

Here are some of the biggest ones, via the @Moscow_Project:

Yesterday, @maddow reported on leaked audio of @DevinNunes at a closed fundraiser, a window into the culture of corruption & cover-up in the GOP Congress. Key admissions:

1. Despite Nunes’ constant attacks on the special counsel, he admits that collusion IS, in fact, a crime. @maddow @DevinNunes 2. @DevinNunes is openly selling the House GOP to big donors as crucial to covering up and protecting @realDonaldTrump from the Russia investigation.
