Based on the @RheinmetallAG CEO's interview with CNN, it sounds like the company is now beginning the work to produce much larger amounts of ammunition for Ukraine 🇺🇦, and has already made the investment to greatly upscale their production. 🧵 /1 Image This is critically important, because the CEO (Armin Paggerger) had recently expressed that although the company had the capacity and willingness to boost ammunition production, the government funding to enable it hadn't yet come through —which led to months-long delays. /2

There's a lot of inaccurate reporting/retweeting about a buildup in Kharkiv Oblast this week. The most important thing to know is that Ukraine's 🇺🇦 Deputy Defense Minister (Hanna Maliar) has mainly stated that these attempts are a diversionary action — intended to distract.. /1 Image .. from Ukrainian operations around Bakhmut. Maliar stated directly that the UA believes Russia🇷🇺 has two goals:

1) Return lost positions
2) Force Ukraine to transfer reserves to the area from other directions

So if you see posts describing a huge offensive to take Kharkiv.. /2

The head of Ukraine's 🇺🇦 state defense conglomerate Ukroboronprom is being replaced. According to a detailed story by Ekonomichna Pravda, the writing has been on the wall for months. Former head Yuriy Gusev has been replaced by Herman Smetanin, head of Kharkiv's Malyshev Plant./1 The article claims that when Oleksandr Kamyshin, the former CEO of the beloved Ukrainian state railway company Ukrzaliznytsia, was made 🇺🇦 Minister of Strategic industries in March, things immediately began to change, drawing a contrast to previous levels of dysfunction. /2

I'd like to address this misleading analysis of #Twitter code, which seems to be cobbled together with a minimum of investigation. I'll preface this by saying that I fully support Ukraine 🇺🇦, and that I'm just as unhappy as many with the direction this platform has taken. 🧵 However, I believe that tweeting misinformation, especially in a quickly-packaged way that makes for instant retweets, does disservice to the cause of people fighting for truth/justice. So with that in mind, let's examine some of the glaring issues with this person's analysis:

Ukraine 🇺🇦 is now using flying drone interceptors from the USA 🇺🇸 to counter the threat of #Shahed loitering munitions. Deputy PM Mykhailo Fedorov shared that #Ukraine has bought 6 of the Fortem DroneHunter F700 drones, which use their aerial agility to down threats with nets. The systems are autonomous, guided by onboard radar. According to the company, only 15% of target drones are able to evade the first shot — and the F700s carry multiple nets. Fortem has worked with the US @DeptofDefense, and is now making the product commercially available.

This is Photoshop. It’s called the Clone Brush Tool. If you don’t know how to properly apply it, it leaves 1) exact copies of things (referenced by the arrows), 2) “Ghosting” of unwanted things from the source, which will appear at the opacity of the brush (blue circle) /1 I can’t speak to the veracity of this account, or whether they are in Ukraine 🇺🇦.. And honestly, I don’t really want to join that controversy. But the trees in this picture are absolutely photoshopped. And for the record, I fully support Ukraine and wish them victory. /2
