🚫Not for experts

SIP – Systematic Investment Plan
STP – Systematic Transfer Plan
SWP – Systematic Withdrawal Plan

Asset Allocation
Emergency Fund
ELSS – Equity Linked Saving SchemeImage SIP – Systematic Investment Plan
You invest a fixed amount every month in a mutual fund.

🧠 Think of SIP like an EMI – but for wealth creation.

✅ Works best for regular income folks
✅ You don’t have to time the market
✅ Builds long-term discipline

📍Example:

A person invests ₹5,000/month in an Index Fund via SIP. After 10 years (assuming 12% CAGR), it grows to ~₹11.6 lakhs

His total investment? Just ₹6 lakhs
Return? ₹5.6L profit without doing anything daily.

Illustration:

🎯 Returns Summary
- Total Investment: ₹1,20,000
- Value at Year End: ₹1,26,837.02
- Gain: ₹6,837.02
- Approximated XIRR: ~12%Image

Not sure why - people in India like to scam

On my hunt for a new sofa for our newly renovated home, after exploring 10+ options I landed in a local store who promised to provide the design and fabric we wanted. We chose the fabric after exploring 30+ books & brands With all customisation, the sofa costed a bomb + 2% extra for paying via. Credit card. Finally we agreed the sofa to be delivered on April 3rd

In between, we also planned to get a dining table, hence the store person told they would deliver both by April 7th considering Eid

NEW TO INVESTING ? Few things to keep in mind … 📕📕📕

Most of them were true in my case

Overconfidence - Many individual investors tend to believe they can consistently pick winning stocks, leading them to trade frequently. This overconfidence often results in higher transaction costs and lower overall returns.

#Investing Loss Aversion : Investors often hold on to losing stocks for too long or keep averaging , hoping they will recover, rather than cutting their losses. This reluctance to sell at a loss can lead to missed opportunities in more profitable investments.

How to save 3-25% on FUEL transactions?

Step 1 :

Create an account with one of the Fuel Providers.
I fill my petrol only in Indian Oil, so created IOCL account and always give my mobile number for the billing.

So every time petrol is filled XTRAREWARDS get accrued

#ccgeek Image Step 2 - with Credit Card

Take a Fuel based credit card which will offer you rewards and surcharge waiver for every fuel transaction

I use Indian Oil - Citi Card which provides 4 Turbo points / Rs. 150 spent

Each Turbo Point = 1 rupee

Children have slowed on taking instructions these days …

Reason - they watch TV/Gadgets and most of the learning is happening through eyes & not ears

Earlier kids in school used to listen in 1st instance, now it takes 5 times

#GOLD investment in #India ?

Most of us are hearing a lot about #SGB - Sovereign Gold Bonds these days. In this thread, I will try to explain my understanding

Sovereign gold bonds(SGB) were introduced by the Government of India in 2015 under the Gold Monetization Scheme.

1/n Image SGBs are substitutes for Physical gold, the bonds are issued by RBI (Reserve Bank of India) on behalf of Govt of India.

Imagine buying gold but in non-physical form, the price of the bond increases and decreases with the price of Gold in the international market

I have screened over 500 resumes and conducted more than 250 interviews ranging from entry-level to senior executives, and here are some basic/generic observations

- CV (curriculum vitae)
- Interview Readiness
- Interview Questions
- Interview Etiquette

#JobInterview CV (curriculum vitae)

Keep it concise: A CV should be a maximum of two pages long. Use bullet points and clear headings to make it easy to read.

0-8 Years -> One page
8+ years (Senior role) -> Two pages (the first page highlighting the latest experience)

ISB at #Hyderabad will forever remain as a great case study of how a leader with a vision and agility made the impossible possible

#ISB established with a motto of strengthening entrepreneurship and fostering innovation will truly stay as one of the biggest achievements of CBN Keeping politics aside, the reason this is very close to my heart is because of the impact it created on many other visionaries who then setup such institutes across India to help nurture India’s young leaders with world class faculty & opportunities

I use credit cards for all my expenses for making the best of reward points. I earn around ~Rs.30,000-60,000 a year on reward points

As the Indian middle-class, every rupee reward counts in saving more

Below is the thread of some cards that I use for my expenses 🧵

#CreditCard Key things to consider:

- FREE CARDS - I prefer only free cards & never paid a single rupee as membership fee for any of my cards

- CREDIT as DEBIT - I use my credit card like debit card, spend and pay immediately

- TRACK OFFERS - Credit cards have specific offers, track them

All Basics - Nothing Complex

For #investing, I follow KISS (Keep it Simple, Stupid)

#StockMarket 1. Don't invest in something that I don't understand

Financial world is an ocean, there are many instruments ranging from debt to equity to crypto to P2P to ULIPs

I can't invest in everything. I need to pick the ones I understand to have confidence in my investment strategy
