Lighting oil/ghee lamps in Temples considered as one of the greatest virtues since ages.

In ancient times, people donated goats, cows, buffaloes to Temples to light lamps.

To light a perpetual lamp, Temples collected 96 Goats/48 Cows/16 Buffaloes as deposit from donors. As per one of the inscriptions on the enclosure wall in Thanjavur Brihadeeshwara Temple, 78 perpetual lamps were lit by Rajaraja in the Temple everyday, amongst, 59 of them were lit using cow ghee & the rest using goat ghee.

12 Kms from Aasoor on Trichy-Thanjavur NH 83. #WalkToTemple On the eastern lateral wall, Vaikunta Perumal is carved in seated posture, on the left is Hayagriva, which is unique to this Temple.

On the western lateral wall, Pundareekaksha Perumal is carved in standing posture, on his right, Nrusimha.

Preacher Samuel Jaisundar of "Scripture Union" a Christian Org, spreading Bible, sending obscene messages to School children, asking them to send their photos wearing skirt, frock, asking their bedtime dresses, if they had kissing experiences etc, allege parents!

Girl students from schools where he used to visit for Bible classes allege that he used to touch inappropriately & insisted them to give him their WhatsApp numbers.

90,000 FAKE "PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana" beneficiaries found in TN's Vizhuppuram, Cuddalore districts.

Over 6 Cr swindled, 4 arrested. CBCID freezes all 90,000 PM-Kisan bank accounts of FAKE beneficiaries.

Arrested 4 took Rs 1000 commission from ineligible people, forged their documents to enroll them under the scheme.

Fake beneficiaries reportedly are not farmers, nor do have any land.

Gau Mutra as medicine in Chozha inscriptions!

A Chozha Temple dedicated to Vishnu @ Pazhaya Seevaram near Kanchipuram, also functioned as a hospital with facilities to treat 15 inpatients.

An inscription lists out 20 medicines that were used to treat ailments, One is Gau Mutra. The hospital, according to a 11th Century CE, ViraRajendra Chozha inscription, had a physician, surgeon & barber.

Grants were given by ViraRajendra to celebrate Jenmashtami!

Interesting to note that Jenmashtami was celebrated in TN in 11th century itself.

Madurai man who has been tested positive for #COVIDー19 had reportedly attended a religious event in Erode organized by 6 Islamic preachers!

2 of those 6 Preachers have been tested positive. People at least now should understand the seriousness of community transmission, and restrict their travels, at best, can quarantine themselves at home!

Today Christians are part of protests demanding Tamil consecration to Brihadeeshwara Temple.
