በ1948 ዓ.ም በአዲስ አበባ “መጽሐፈ ሰዋስው ወመዝገበ ቃላት ሐዲስ” የተሰኘ አዲስ መጽሐፍ በገበያ ዋለ። ይህ የግእዝ-አማርኛ ሰዋስው እና መዝገበ ቃላት የሦስት ትውልድ ሊቃውንት የምርምርና የትጋት ውጤት ሲሆን ላለፉት ስድሳ ዓመታት ዋነኛው የግእዝ ቃላት መፍቻ ሆኖ አገልግሏል። እስከዛሬ ድረስም ቢሆን በአገራችን ምትክ የሚሆነው መጽሐፍ ሊገኝለት አልተቻለም።

በዚህ ጽሑፍ የዚህን ዕጹብ መዝገበ-ቃላት ሥራ ወጣኝ የነበሩትን የመምህር ክፍለ ጊዮርጊስን የሕይወት እና የድርሰት ታሪክ አቀርባለሁ።

መምህር ክፍለ ጊዮርጊስ ግንቦት 14፣ 1817 ዓ.ም በአንኮበር ተወለዱ። ከአርባ ቀንም በኋላ በሰኔ 23 ስለተጠመቁ ሰማዕቱ ጊዮርጊስን ለመዘከር ስማቸው “ክፍለ ጊዮርጊስ” ተባለ። አለቃ ኪዳነ ወልድ ክፍሌ እንደጻፉልን መምህር ክፍሌ አንኮበር ቢወለዱም አብዛኞቹ ዘመዶቻቸው ከሐር አምባ ናቸው (“አንኮበር ይእቲ ምድረ ሙላዱ ወሐር አምባ ርስተ ነገዱ።”)
