Here's my take. It may surprised you 😮. 1/ Going into a recession + increasing interest rates + selling high priced goods mean one thing.

So, if Tesla wants to continue growing deliveries, price cuts will be the lever to pull.

The other way is to preserve margin but at the expense of growth.

The Model 3 is selling at $33,462 and the Model Y at $37,729.

The COGs of 3/Y is $36k. There caveat here is we still don't know the COGs of cars produced in Berlin and Austin. They could bring the overall COGs down a little.

But it would have been better if Tesla had the Compact or Gen3 ready which would have had a COG below $18K.

Some in the community is becoming louder in, not just a suggestion, or, even presenting an argument for, but DEMANDING Tesla buy shares back, right now.

This shows desperation. Likely these people are leveraged or have short term options.

For those that still thinks buybacks can save Tesla from any economic crash. Btw. META spent 6.5B on buybacks in Q3 2022 alone. That did nothing. And it's mcap is only 60% of TSLA. 👉 META would have 100B cash on hand now if they didn't do any buybacks from 2021-2022.

👉 100B would send a bigger signal to WS than any buybacks would.

👉 15B Tesla buyback is chicken feed compared to what META did.

👉 I vote a 50-100B war chest for Tesla instead.

Tesla Semi uses 1.7kWh per mile. Average cost of electricity is $0.166 per kWh. That's $0.28 per mile.

My thinking is simple. I believe whoever owns the OS of the future, the screens, the gateway or eco system will ultimately be able to disrupt everyone else.

This is right on target and is my own conclusion as well. That being said, to get to 20m cars annually, expect to see ASP to go down over time. Anyone thinking ASP will remain the same aren't living in the real world. There is no demand issue. Tsla will match demand with price.

2/ what I see happening is Tesla reducing prices and also offering new cheaper trims for 3Y for next 2 years. Maybe reach 5 to 6m total. Then they'll already have new compact models to pick up the growth to 20m.

Boston Dynamics Atlas may look like a robot that can do anything. Even Parkour. But it's design specs are very different from Teslabot. Here's my initial take.

Atlas uses a 3.7kwh battery pack, while Teslabot uses 2.3kwh.

Atlas is designed for speed, high power, mostly for show. Battery life is about 1hr.

Teslabot is designed for specific use case and to work 8 hours on 2.3kwh. Efficiency over power.
