Had a great week at MCDM talking about the new RPG. Matt, Hannah, and I have made a tremendous amount of progress, and I honestly feel like I could have kept this up. Great collaborators. We've definitely got some cool ideas that I can't wait to flesh out.
One thing we're toying around with at the moment is the idea that there are some things you can do that just work. You don't roll to succeed, you roll to see how impactful the thing you do is, but you do it.

The minimum wage conversation right now has me thinking about how freelancer rates in TTRPGs have been stagnant for decades, while the cost of living (LIVING) has continued to rise. Why do you see so many folks tweet about burnout and hard times? This is why. Thread. #TTRPG#DnD
It’s up to publishers to raise the bar. We have to pay folks what they’re worth. It’s not easy. Most publishers are not hoarding money. If you can’t afford it, how can you help authors, editors, artists, and other freelancers make a decent wage instead of exploiting them?

Real talk about @matthewmercer as a boss... He was awesome. Among the best I've had in any industry ever. This human truly puts his money where his mouth is. All parts of the deal were more than fair, but he also had regular check-ins and encouraged us to take big risks.
If you had an idea that wasn't quite working, Matt was there with honest feedback. He led by example, charging headfirst into the word mines. First person in. Last person out. I gave a lot of time and energy to this book, but it's nothing compared to what he poured into it.

As a person who has worked in television longer than TTRPGs, I just want to say that TV deals are way more complicated than they appear. Reacting to the deal with happiness, frustration, anger, joy, or any other emotion is valid. I don't want to invalidate anything, just explain.
I want to debunk the idea that Critical Role could have gone to any network with their series. Even with a huge Kickstarter backing, this is unlikely. Disclaimer: I do not know anything that went on with CR specifically.

I'm going to start a #DnD formatting thread with this tweet to note some common pitfalls I notice while editing adventures. I'll come back to it as I have more thoughts. #RPG#TRPG#TTRPG
When you write an NPC's statistics in parentheses next to their name, it should look like this: NAME (ABBREVIATED ALIGNMENT SEX OR GENDER SUBRACE RACE STATISTICS). e.g. Fireface McDragon (LG female mountain dwarf knight)
