This is something to consider as our country continues its policy of separating families and traumatizing innocent children. #meded#childhoodtrauma#healthcare#health
“Exposure to trauma during childhood can dramatically increase people’s risk for 7 out of 10 of the leading causes of death in the U.S.—including high blood pressure, heart disease, and cancer—and it’s crucial to address this public health crisis…”

Optometrist literally pulled out a ophthalmoscope and did a funduscopic exam. Then said I must perform these exams every once in awhile.
I haven’t done on in a long while. Most of my inpatient who need exams get ophthalmology consults.

Medicine can be tough. You can do everything right and death still wins. But this is not a weakness — this is life.
I hope every learner that works with me learns this lesson. Death comes for everyone, eventually. #thisislife#medicine#death#loss

Actions of Salt Lake Police Detective Jeff Payne are inexcusable. Clearly in the wrong. Any non-LEO would be charged with assault.
The abuse of power is troubling to say the least. That none of other LEOs on site stopped him is even more troubling.
