Now a decade later Republicans in our General Assembly have tossed out the initial justification and are forcing taxpayers to pay the private school tuition of North Carolina's wealthiest families that have never sent their kids to public school and never would. 
Last week’s bombshell CNN report detailing posts Mark Robinson made to the Nude Africa porn site message board was shocking to be sure.
GOP leaders, like all North Carolinians, *know* the horrific Mark Robinson allegations are true. They just care more about political power than serving our state with integrity.
It's not the first time Robinson and co. have been in hot water with @NCDHHS. They were previously investigated for forging criminal background qualifications letters and early childhood credentials and had to close their daycare to make the investigation go away.

Top of the ticket: Donald Trump, a 34x convicted felon found liable for sexual abuse and defamation with more than half a billion financial fraud judgement hanging over his head. NC could be crucial to his reelection. 
Some more gems for anyone just getting acquainted with this nutcase. As a veteran teacher the prospect of Michele Morrow leading our whole k-12 system is terrifying. 
This is a very neutral candidate profile, but what strikes me besides the generic M4L talking points are how little actual understanding of schools Morrow seems to have. Not surprising considering she’s a homeschool parent with no children attending said schools.
Tricia Cotham is a former teacher and assistant principal from Mecklenburg County whose service in education was commendable but expired many years ago along with her license and her concern for public schools.

I’d contend that plenty of people believe Trump waving confidential plans to attack Iran in front of his fans and saying, “…it is like, highly confidential. Secret. This is secret information. Look, look at this” is a bona fide security concern.
The program would be implemented in “public-school districts of varying size and geographic diversity” in school year 2024-25 following a year of planning in 23-24.
At the same meeting, Truitt’s Chief of Staff Shelby Armentrout said “If teachers come out against it then it’ll be dead on arrival.”
