I get that they think a lousy centrist or moderate candidate is the way to win but simply 'not being Trump' doesn't insure recovery, progress, achievements sizable enough to enable the Ds to be reelected in two years, four years etc. and we'd be back where we are now.

I still haven't quite worked out the resistance of racists supporting a racist president to being called racists despite how proudly and emboldened they are to say racist things.
