THREAD: Financial services are vital. Demand is high due to the growth. There are now more #Somali banks. In the last two years, nearly three Somali-owned private banks have opened, and more are in the process of being licensed.

Predictably, only half of our people have taken up z offer. I’m sure this mystifies some of our visitors. Most modern managers wouldn’t tolerate it.

Very interesting discussion. However the main question is who’s responsible for the living standards of Mogadishu? We all know the impact of the private sector for the last decade. Where’s is the government responsibilities? Main issues raised by @Suldaan__ are all about focusing two things infrastructure and security. We know that every city like Mogadishu needs to have its own department for urban development. Do we have to blame land developers why their houses or lands are expensive?

Quite surprised that there is a high threat of sexual harassment and assault, at MIA (Mogadishu International Airport), particularly at the beach. Reports from the UN indicate that a female colleague was accosted by an assailant who tried to assault her, sexually. Despite the continued awareness on gender-based violence, which includes domestic violence and rape, there still exists loopholes in tackling the vice. The two incidents, reportedly occurring within a short duration of time, particularly at the beach.
