A must read - how changing the vaccine to produce a slightly different Spike protein (substitution with Proline amino acid) makes the Spike stable. The recipient makes more antibodies against the Spike protein => stronger immunity 1/n
Moderna, Pfizer and J&J have 2 adjacent Proline substitutions (2P) while AZ and Sputnik do not have 2P
Researchers are now looking at a version with 6 Proline substitutions (HexaPro) which is so stable that it can be developed without advanced technology - in chicken eggs.

What an honor to be part of this amazing team that has followed the best scientific practice to answer the ACEI and ARB questions in the setting of #COVID19
Started with the finding that #SARSCoV2 gains cell entry via the ACE2 receptor.

Concern that being on ACEI or ARB could upregulate ACE2 expression leading to increased risk of getting an infection and of more severe disease.
But it was also possible that having more ACE2 could be protective in the setting of pulmonary infection.
