2016: call centers worth of Russians hired to manipulate social media so Trump wins election
2019: Twitter starts censoring Rusbots. Trump cannot manipulate the narrative
2020: Trump loses election
2022: #ElonMusk wants to buy Twitter to "free it of censorship"

Make no mistake. In a simultaneous multi-angle media strategy characteristic for Russian propaganda - everything happens on the first day all at once and is prepared and rehearsed - Putin's propaganda outlet is already enshrining Putin's friend who wants to help install Putin's president

#Russia's disinfo troops have just made a very large mistake: their mask slipped. In an effort to denounce the Heroes of Snake Island, they also mention "Avenger of the air" - but that does not exist! It's probably a future psyop that they thought already came out. #UkraineWar Look at the third picture - the whole article is just: 1. a headline saying Snake Island and Avenger of the air are fake 2. A picture of Snake Island 3. Some unrelated captions and an unrelated paragraph. That is ALL. There's no content, just a headline so it shows up in Google.

What is this #war about, how to make it infeasible for #Russia, and what consequences could it have? Here's what I see. First let's talk about why the #UkraineInvasion happened. Obviously, none of the things said by #Russia are the true reason.

After all art has been stolen, assets removed, people displaced or killed, and infrastructure destroyed, what is left? Land, buildings, natural resources.

Anyone saying "it's not our fight, we shouldn't get mixed in" is a fascist. (thread) By definition: Fascism is a form nationalism ("not our fight") characterized by dictatorial power (acceptance of Putin's actions), forcible suppression of opposition (agree that Putin is allowed to shoot Ukrainians), and strong regimentation of society ("not our fight").

Google was trying to sell me a matching algorithm as a service and now everything google makes that uses item matching (youtube, cards) is royally fucked.

cloud.google.com/solutions/real… i get weirdly specific shit like "here's twenty articles on how to cook dishes with vodka" or "have a slurry of videos of animals that are mentally disabled or have eaten drugs" yeah well done googal

Hey all, I'm looking for remote work doing code, devops, bizdev, or management, short or long term. 15y of experience, any lang/db (best at Python/Go/Haskell/FP). Just DM me. Just beat the 'vid so now I'm up for a new challenge :) Please RT! (1/n) I do lots of work in fintech, agency work, programming language design, and distributed systems, both as a lead dev and on my own, and I've helped lots of junior devs learn new things. I've run >50 meetups where me and others taught people how to do stuff :)

Recently someone asked me what I liked about Haskell and if I thought it was the best language. I said I liked it, but it wasn't the best. The gist of it was this tweet by @DRMacIver. (thread) I like Haskell because it lets me build larger systems, more easily, and with less hassle, than any other lang I've used. It feels much more solid in the hand, like a quality hammer, compared to eg Python, which to me feels fragile, and cheap. I'll put more confidence in Haskell.

PSA: throw away any screwdrivers that are not isolated for > 1000V, in case you forget the one hand rule. Why? See below. #electronics A little about me. Electronics is probably my #1 hobby. I hang out in chats and on mailing lists every day. Window #2 in irc client.

Mental note: make sure any mains cables you disassemble are disconnected from said mains before you touch the energized conductors. Guess how Haskell saved me from electrocuting myself today.
