Before @JoeBiden and President Trump take the debate stage tonight in Cleveland, we’re counting down Trump’s worst betrayals of Ohio workers. #Debates2020 In 2016, Trump promised to fight for Ohio workers, but failed to lift a finger when GM abandoned Lordstown, taking 4,500 jobs with it.

One year ago this week, I joined @nanwhaley after the shooting in #Dayton, Ohio. I looked the President in the eye and urged him to do the right thing. I asked the President to call Republican Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, tell McConnell to bring the Senate back to Washington, hold a vote on commonsense gun safety legislation, and to promise the American people he will sign that legislation into law.

#ICYMI in @RollingStone, "Senator Sherrod Brown Knows How to Save the Soul of the Democratic Party" sherrodbrown.com/frontpage/2020… Q: What is your theory for how this president won in 2016? And how does that inform the Democratic Party nominee defeating the president in 2020?

We need to build a progressive bench in Ohio -- that's why this fall Sherrod started the Canary Candidates Program, to elect grassroots Ohioans who champion progressive values and who will fight for the #DignityofWork. "In some of the recent local elections, it paid to be connected to Democratic U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown."

Sherrod spoke at @dailykos & @Netroots_Nation’s Presidential Candidate forum to debunk the electability myth. The crowd was fired up! sherrodbrown.com/frontpage/2019… Pundits too often argue that you have to compromise progressive values in order to win elections.

Sherrod knows better: He has served the great swing state of Ohio for decades and won his last election by seven points in a state President Trump won by nearly 10 points in 2016.

First, I want to say thank you. Thank you for your support as I ran for re-election in Ohio, and thank you for your support as we traveled the country on the Dignity of Work tour. .@ConnieSchultz and I have spent the last few months traveling around the country to make dignity of work a centerpiece of Democrats’ 2020 campaign, and we are so grateful to everyone who has welcomed us into their communities and into their lives.

In just the last year 1,200 kids have been shot—too often in communities of color that get ignored.

Gun violence is a real national emergency. Trump’s own tax law encourages companies like GM to close factories, eliminate jobs, and ship work overseas—leaving thousands of Americans without jobs.

That's a real national emergency.

I proudly wear suits made by union workers ten miles from my house in Cleveland, and on the lapel of those suits, I wear a pin depicting a canary in a birdcage. Here's the story: The canary pin was given to me two decades ago by a Lorain steelworker at a Workers Memorial Day rally. I wear the canary instead of the official Senate pin because it represents all of us.

The shutdown is an emergency for the 800,000 Americans either working without pay or off the job as a result of @realDonaldTrump’s temper tantrum. #FactsMatter 420,000 workers are still expected to show up to work, even though they aren’t receiving paychecks. #FactsMatter

Taking a few moments this afternoon to reflect.

This race has always been about whom you fight for, and what you fight against. Here's what that means to me: It means that every day, I fight for people like Crystal. Crystal's family has gotten the healthcare they need through CHIP—a crucial program that we need to protect. sherrodbrown.com/blog/2018/crys… Image

Tonight, I'm taking the debate stage for the final time with @RepJimRenacci.

There is a clear contrast between the two of us: I've been fighting like hell for all Ohioans in the Senate, while Renacci only looks out for himself. #OHSenDebate While I'm fighting to protect Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security, @RepJimRenacci is trying to cut funding for programs that families rely on. #OHSenDebate sherrodbrown.com/blog/2018/repu…

I announced my decision to vote against Judge Kavanaugh before Dr. Ford came forward.

I am grateful that she did—and grateful to all the brave women who have spoken out and shared their stories in the past few weeks.

Those stories matter. You matter and are making a difference. Judge Kavanaugh doesn't stand with women—especially when it comes to their healthcare and freedom. He doesn't stand with those relying on the ACA, or with workers.

That's why we need to fight like hell to win this November.

As you may have heard, @realDonaldTrump is in Ohio today.

While he’s having dinner with donors, we’re focused on kitchen-table issues Ohioans care about: Like the @GOP’s tax scam, which is currently lining the pockets of the wealthiest 1% while failing to help hardworking families.

Thank you to everyone who played a role in the Primary, encouraging and supporting a historic team of Democratic candidates and giving them the tools and the resources to compete and win in every corner of our state. I don’t need to tell you that this is one of the most critical elections in recent memory. Dignity and respect for all Americans are on the ballot.

This administration is one of the worst for middle-class families in history. I am always willing to work with him when it’s right for Americans, but here's the reality of Trump's first year in office: .@realDonaldTrump has put millions of people’s healthcare in jeopardy.

American manufacturing deserves a level playing field. If you don't have good manufacturing jobs you lose the middle class. That's why we should be doing everything we can to support American manufacturing and job creation.
