1/x Brnovich is the first time ever that SCOTUS will hear a vote-denial claim under Section 2 of the VRA. Prior cases involved gerrymandering rather than the right to cast a ballot. It's also the first time in 20 years that the Court will address the 15 Amendment's substantive scope.
