I would like to inform Albertans that a new section has been added to the @youralberta website with information on accessing proof of vaccination records.

alberta.ca/proof-of-vacci… 1/8 Albertans have been asking more questions about proof of vaccination in recent days so we have posted answers to some of the most common questions online.

To be clear, the Alberta government has not and will not mandate a so-called ‘vaccine passport’ for domestic use. 2/8

I had the opportunity to stop by the @AHS_media vaccination clinic in Brentwood Village Mall today.

It was great to have the opportunity to meet some of the staff in person and thank them for all their hard work. 1/4 Image They were kind enough to show me around and walk me through what one of their days looks like working at the clinic.

I cannot stress enough how important the work that goes on at these sites is.

The COVID-19 vaccination drive is the largest ever for our province. 2/4 Image

The Liberals are currently crisscrossing the country spending your tax dollars electioneering by criticizing provincial gov'ts when it is politically convenient for them to do so. 1/9 Minister Hajdu noticeably neglected to write a letter to Saskatchewan despite SK and AB having similar approaches to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Instead, Ms. Hajdu chose to target Alberta – the Trudeau Liberals’ favourite punching bag. 2/9

Today, I approved a three-step change to Alberta’s vaccine rollout to help protect residents in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo and Banff areas.

These areas are being hardest hit by the third wave, yet seeing lower than average vaccine coverage. 1/7 #1: As soon as they arrive, we will redirect all doses of the Janssen vaccine, as supply allows, to the #RMWB and Banff areas.

We expect to receive about 30,000 doses soon, but are awaiting exact confirmation from Ottawa. 2/7

We're making rapid testing easier and less expensive for Alberta businesses & organizations.

Businesses & service providers wanting access to free rapid tests will no longer be required to have a health care provider oversee their screening program. 1/5
alberta.ca/release.cfm?xI… We heard from Alberta’s business community and other organizations that hiring a health care provider was a significant and costly barrier for many organizations.

This change will allow more organizations to access rapid testing kits without compromising health and safety. 2/5

This afternoon, I’ll be announcing that vaccines will be offered to the more than 15,000 workers at 136 federal and provincial meatpacking plants across the province starting this week. #abhealth #ableg

More details to come at 3:30 today. 1/6 To help vaccinate as many workers as quickly as possible, a combination of on-site and community locations will be used.

We’ll be contacting the plants to confirm how the vaccinations will be delivered. 2/6

The pandemic has raised questions about the Public Health Act (Introduced in 1910) and powers that allow for forced immunization (added in 1984) in an emergency. 1/7 A small number of people have used this section of the Act to scare others, claiming that forcible immunizations are right around the corner. 2/7

Today, I’m pleased to announce significant investments to protect rural physician recruitment & retention:

▪️$81 million investment to rural health care, and
▪️Alberta’s incentive programs for rural doctors is the most generous in Canada.

More 👇alberta.ca/release.cfm?xI… 1/8 Our government has already made key changes to support physicians and patients during #COVID19AB and going forward. We’ve enabled physicians to bill unlimited virtual visits, and we’ve cancelled all proposed changes to complex modifiers. 2/8

Our modelling data gives Albertans a better idea of what to expect over the next 6-8 weeks. Two core scenarios were modelled (probable & elevated) to provide Albertans with as much information as possible. All slides and charts can be accessed here: bit.ly/2JOKnsq 1/5 It’s important to remember that the modelling gives us the total number of anticipated infections in the whole population, not just the confirmed cases. That makes the numbers higher than what we have seen reported in other countries. 2/5

Today, we announced that previously planned changes to complex modifiers will not go ahead on March 31st. 1/4
alberta.ca/release.cfm?xI… We heard concerns expressed by physicians that reducing complex modifiers would lead to ten minute medicine and that it could also increase pressure on our emergency rooms. 2/4

I’m happy to explain again Bill 21 and the termination of the AMA Master Agreement. Thread 👇 First, the main point of the AMA Master Agreement was to give the AMA a veto on any change to the Schedule of Medical Benefits. It is true that now that there is no Master Agreement, that the AMA no longer has that veto power.

First, it’s not piggybacking to have an integrated system. We expect them to partner with AHS using the strengths and skills of each organization to optimize care delivery. Second, examples of @CovenantCA’s resourcefulness: 👇 👉Only Alberta hospitals with World Health Organization designation for Baby Friendly Initiative
