On Saturday, @WHO Director-General @DrTedros declared the global #monkeypox outbreak a public health emergency of international concern—what’s known as a #PHEIC.

What this means and what you need to know ↓ A #PHEIC is a global alert and call to action in response to an international health risk.

PHEICs have previously been declared for other disease outbreaks, including #COVID19, Zika, #polio, Ebola, and H1N1.
