In the mid 1970s, our only pastime as kids in Mylapore, Madras was road cricket. Most of us in the area could only contribute around 25 p each for a rubber / tennis ball yet equipment was a challenge. But we had Roshan Lal. Roshan's dad owned some pawn shops in the area and (1/n) they were well to do and even had a car. Roshan was keen on cricket, and more than made up for his lack of talent with 2 nice bats and 6 stumps. His only condition: he would bat first. This was fine with us but then Roshan started misusing his privilege and decided he can (2/n)

Yesterday took the #VandeBharatTrain from Bangalore to Chennai. The excitement was palpable as almost all passengers pulled out their phones to take pics as the majestic train pulled into KSR bang on time at 255 pm from Mysore.👍 The seating inside (we were in E2 coach) is comfortable with ergonomic swivelling seats, wide windows, speed and toilet indicators. As soon as the train departed at 3 pm, all passengers jumped up and started twisting and turning their seats for swivel. 👍

It was around 1972/73. I was around 10 years old. My father was a Railways employee in Kharagpur and three of us - my parents and I were traveling in a first class coach having 4 berths by Howrah mail to Madras, a 2 night journey, for Deepavali holidays. (1/n) #RIPSPBSir Next day, the train reached Waltair jn. (Vishakapatnam today) around noon. My uncle's family who lived there met us at the station with a huge basket of sumptuous lunch. Just as the train was leaving the platform, a young man rushed in and took the empty berth.(2/n) #RIPSPBSir

So many requests from #Entrepreneurs for online seminars to share survival tips for #startups in a post #COVID2019india world. Thought of sharing this to reach more people. (1/14) I survived 2 downturns earlier - first in 2000/2001 dot.com bust followed by 9/11. The next few years were bad for #ecommerce. That's when we launched Fabmall supermarkets in 2002, later acquired by @AdityaBirlaGrp (#More supermarket), now acq. by @amazonIN (2/14)
