If @senatemajldr has time to stack the courts with Trump’s judicial nominees, surely he has time to respond to the pandemic or pass police reform legislation. Join us at 3pm ET to call on senators to #StopWalker. #courtsmatter bit.ly/StopTrumpsJudg… Image
If you care about police reform & brutality, you need to care about the courts. If you care about access to health care, you need to care about the courts. Right now, @senatemajldr's pushing through anti-civil rights nominees like Justin Walker. We have to fight back. #StopWalker
Trump court pick Justin Walker called #SCOTUS’s decision on the Affordable Care Act “catastrophic,” and praised Kavanaugh for writing a “roadmap” for judges to declare the ACA unconstitutional. He doesn't belong on the federal bench. #StopWalker #courtsmatter

In the middle of a global pandemic, as people are fighting for Black lives and a justice system that holds police accountable, the Senate is focused on confirming judges who will gut access to health care and dismantle civil rights protections. Unacceptable. #courtsmatter Image

As the Supreme Court hears argument on birth control, the Senate is holding a hearing for an unqualified judge to get a lifetime appointment to the second highest court in the land.

Justin Walker & @HawleyMO chatted religious liberty.
"The Constitution commands at least this: that the government treat secular and religious institutions equally."
FALSE
Walker actually believes equality only applies to gov't BENEFITS. He exempts religion from gov't BURDENS.
Walker on American history, "what makes history so much fun is that people can have different opinions"
Who wants to send him The Founding Myth?
Also, maybe not what we want to hear from judges when history is being abused to subvert the Constitution.

The Senate Judiciary Committee is holding a hearing on the nomination of Judge Walker to serve as a judge on the DC Circuit. A few things:
- They are holding this hearing during a pandemic for a postition that won't be open til Sept.
- Judge Walker is totally unqualified.
They could be talking about COVID-19 and how it is impacting elections, resources for first responders, liability, etc, etc. But no...they are coming back to push a judge, who is a friend of McConnell, to take a seat on the second most powerful court in the nation.
.@RandPaul, in his intro of Judge Walker, seemed to brag that he rushed to issue an opinion in the case re: whether Louisville could apply limits on mass gatherings to houses of worship. Paul left out the fact that the Walker rushedit so much, he got all the facts wrong!

Last night the New York Times reported that a federal judge asked John Roberts to assign an investigation into whether Mitch McConnell unethically induced a sitting judge to retire so he could install his protégé Justin Walker in his place.

Here's how we got here: #StopWalker
First @nytimes reported McConnell was privately lobbying judges to retire so Trump could fill their seats and the Republican Senate could fast-track nominations this term.

Then Judge Griffith abruptly announced his retirement.

Coincidence? Suspicious. nytimes.com/2020/03/16/us/…
@nytimes If Mitch McConnell offered a sitting judge anything of value to convince him to retire, that would be a clear violation of ethics rules.

So we called for an investigation into Judge Griffith’s suspiciously timed retirement.
