They see the plan for larger classes & fewer courses. They hear his overheated rhetoric and they don’t see a plan for education.

Horwath (unable to get an answer from Ford, turns to Minister of Education): Does the Minister of Education consider it a job loss if a teacher is laid off from a full-time position but is offered occasional supply teaching instead? #onted #onpoli

Horwath: Parents and students don’t need 100s of supply teachers waiting at home for work opportunities; they need educators in our schools, helping students succeed. This week, over 2,000 educators have received a letter saying there’s no job for them in September. #onpoli

Horwath: As one of the many teachers who received a layoff notice put it:
“Only in Doug Ford’s Ontario, could I receive an Award of Distinction one week, and a letter confirming my job loss for September 2019 in the next week” #onted #onpoli #CutsHurtKids

Horwath: Angel Roberts from Emery Collegiate said at our town hall this week: “the technology is outdated (at our school), and has not been upgraded to stand up to the current tech needs of students. With Ford’s push towards e-learning, the need is clear. We need better tech.”

Horwath: What does Ford have to say to students like Angel, whose schools haven’t received the investments they need for the technology to support his ill-conceived e-learning scheme?
