6yrs ago, Jump Into Peace (JIP) was est. to honor #girls & #women who were victims of #gunviolence, it was a way to specifically honor the victims of the quadruple #Mattapan shooting, many of whom jumped doubledutch competitively as The Ropeburners
It took months to plan & the very first Jump Into Peace occurred shortly after we lost #DawnnJaffier Last Friday in #Allston we honored her as we have in years prior.
Gun violence is devastating for impacted families, destabilizing to our communities, creating first & secondary generational trauma.
We know what to do. You certainly don't need another exhaustive tweet thread, op-ed, march/rally speech or emotional rant from me about what WE: Govt, CBO's, law enforcement, faith ldrs, schools, survivors & families must do in the name of peace & healing.
So I guess for now, I just ask that we con't to work cooperatively in the name of #peace And although tempting (& perhaps even justifiable) may we never grow weary in pursuit of it. @GotLuzChange
