20 mile views to #Scotland from #HadriansWall as early start for a rural home visit Saturday in #Northumberland - heading to #Bellingham + beyond #RuralMP
Surgery + chat with Kate from #Bellingham @PostOffice who (along with local community) will be seriously affected by proposed @Barclays decision. Signed her petition + meeting #Barclays on Tuesday in @HouseofCommons to protest proposal, which affects rural communities v badly 2/
Honoured to chat to Graham Batey, who is a #veteran, a #Bellingham legend, 90 years young + telling me stories of his RAF service in 1949 in Hong Kong / China #proud
#Otterburn home visits await but the scenery on a wild day in October is amazing- @discovernland
Great to see @OtterburnMill open for business after the floods, full of great buys and busy-#ShopLocal
Good discussions with locals and Postmistress Eileen in #Kirkwhelpington; much concern about cash access via @PostOffice in #Northumberland + other rural UK areas due to #Barclays decision #ruralaccessmatters
This is the sign in the #BarclaysBank in #Ponteland - closed in Jan 2019 - with assurances by @BarclaysUK reps that “you can also visit any #PostOffice to do your banking essentials such as withdrawing money” ... Not any more if this crass decision goes ahead in January 2020.
This is what this campaign v #Barclays is all about - all the other #banks are working with the #PostOffice - just 1 isn’t: #BankingDinosaur
