We wrote 2 other articles on how important #CDC is to stopping #outbreaks at their source & the need to support the agency's scientists & programs. One article modeled what could happen to the US economy if a #pandemic starting in Asia got out of control.

Bottom line: the Trump administration knew that this could happen. We told them it could, years ago but they ignored the evidence. They tried to close the CDC China office. The fired the GHS team at the #NSC. They hamstrung CDC at every turn. #Coronavirus could have been stopped.
This isn't about "we told you so." It's about the fact that CDC is full of smart, hardworking people whose expertise has been sidelined & ignored, not just for the last few months, but for the last 3 years. CDC staff will always be there for you--we need to be there for them.
