Update: It took all 14 days, but my kiddo is now fully recovered ♥

We still don't know if it was the #Coronavirus because there's no testing in small towns yet, but he had all the symptoms including strange ones like loss of smell

Isolating from each other in the same house must have worked because I didn't get sick along with him

I don't know if we would have been successful if our friends didn't send masks & gloves, so thanks again for protecting us ♥

My own health is still pretty rocky & I need a doctor soon as this pandemic is over. I can't stress enough how our friends might've saved my life by giving us the protective gear

My blood pressure & eyesight are still deteriorating

As I explained before, my son fell ill in #Barrie, where 2 people already died

But there are zero stats for #WasagaBeach, where we live & where thousands of snowbirds recently returned from the US. About half our community migrates

Our nearest medical centre is located in #Collingwood, so we all have to travel if we qualify for testing

But public health discourages this travel for testing if a patient isn't serious enough to require hospital admission

There's at least 2 confirmed cases of #Coronavirus in #Collingwood, but #CDNmedia isn't covering patients in cottage country beyond outbreaks at nursing homes

I fear this lack of testing & reporting is leading to greater outbreaks

#WasagaBeach politicians have been silent

Whereas #Collingwood politicians are asking everyone, especially from #TOpoli, to stay away from our area because we don't have enough medical resources for non permanent residents

I'm convinced we have community spread & it's not just old folks who are being harmed

My son is a generally healthy 23-year-old & he got sick from some unknown stranger

I stress to @fordnation that the #Coronavirus pandemic will explode in #GeorgianBay cottage country if Ontarians aren't formally restricted from visiting

An outbreak is lurking beyond #Muskoka, undetected due to a lack of tests

It's just that half our population is retired &/or high risk

We don't even have enough doctors & resources to care for all locals

I know big cities are a priority & I agree with that health policy

But I kindly implore @fordnation to send some sort of medical assistance to #WasagaBeach & #Collingwood so we can test & mitigate an outbreak in retirement-central
