Eric Capuano makes a vital point in the tweet below
1/6 So let's review my 2009 column to learn *why* I continue to #critique the cybersecurity industry "at a time like this." In it, I barked "computer security experts lack focus on Twitter": web.archive.org/web/2009082305…
2/6 I often retweet folks who just want to read about #cybersecurity issues from the cybersecurity experts they follow -- not about their hotel rooms or airplane food or the politics of the day. Those folks want non-cyber to go on a personal account:
3/6 More to the point -- I insist THIS really is the perfect time to view #cybersecurity through the lens of real-world events!
SFAIK I'm the ONLY person in this entire global industry who compares #computer virus panic to all the COVID19 virus #panic:

4/6 And since I believe this IS the perfect time to contemplate #cybersecurity ... I weasel-worded a survey to point out those IT wonks who call themselves "cyber first responders." Not so great a moniker when it gets tied to #PoliceBrutality, is it?
5/6 But, yes: I get critiqued for staying focused on a Twitter account that *focuses* on #criticism in cybersecurity. Eric Capuano stands in line behind Lindsey Kopacz, who herself stands in a line stretching all the way back to the 9/11 attacks:
6/6 Any number of people on Twitter have created "focused" accounts to give their subscribers the info & opinions they want on a topic. As for me? I've used #sarcasm #burlesque #irony #satire since 1988 (!) to drive home my critiques on #cybersecurity:
7/6 See my personal account @rsnbrgr if you want to learn about the non-profit where my gf & I volunteer that creates & provides FREE surgical masks + 3 filters to folks in need
FYI, that account also reveals I feel police brutality is the problem that created those marches
8/6 Coincidentally, here's my latest RT on this topic:
INFOSEC PROS:
If someone bitches "I follow you for tech, not politics," do you BLOCK their account from reading your #cybersecurity tweets?
