1/7 #COVID19 key concerns in 🇨🇦: Today, in lieu of a daily in-person update to the media, a Monday statement has been issued. You can read in full here: canada.ca/en/public-heal…
2/7 “Layer up” this summer to reduce your risk of exposure to #COVID19. #PublicHealth practices are “layers of protection”. Just like hats, gloves, mitts, and a winter jacket, one item alone is not enough to protect you from the elements.
3/7 #PublicHealth practices are most effective when they’re combined. Build a base layer by sticking to the basics:
✔️ #PhysicalDistancing
✔️ #Handwashing often
✔️ #StayHome if even mildly ill
✔️ #CoughEtiquette
✔️ Stick to a small, consistent social circle
4/7 Then, add layers for extra protection:
✔️ Wear a non-medical mask or face covering when it is difficult to stay 2 metre apart from others and when mandated by local authorities
✔️ Carry a pocket-sized hand sanitizer with you wherever you go
5/7 Your outer layer is about making informed decisions about your personal risk, planning ahead and avoiding the 3 Cs:
🚫 Closed spaces with poor ventilation
🚫 Crowded places with large numbers of people gathered
🚫 Close contact where you cannot keep 2 metres apart from others
6/7 On top of these layers, always follow the:
➡️ advice of local public health as it is tailored to the area where you live: canada.ca/en/public-heal…
➡️ safety measures put in place by the establishment you are visiting.
➡️ latest information on #COVID19: canada.ca/en/public-heal…
7/7 Using ALL of these layers of protection is essential to minimizing your risk for #COVID19 and reducing spread in your community. As we continue to live with #COVID19, how will you layer up?
