I've been heartbroken over the passing of judicial icon #RBG for her body of work, persistence and strength. It pains me how one #SCOTUS vacancy can dramatically affect millions including myself. 1/

#SCOTUS will hear arguments beginning Nov 10th over the fate of the #ACA. The #GOP had 2 years of complete branch control to draft their healthcare legislation only for it to fail. The end of the ACA with no plan to replace it will allow for companies to do what they please. 2/

This means the end of 'pre-existing conditions' protection. It is merely lip service to hear #Trump repeatedly say he is for leaving those protections in place, however, no #ACA means no protections. The admin has no replacement plan. 3/

If I stay in my current plan with my employer, my current coverage would remain intact. However, if I choose to change my employer or go into business for myself, then I am starting a new plan & could be denied or limited coverage based on 'pre-existing conditions.' 4/

As a middle-aged woman, I'm a walking 'pre-existing condition.' I need coverage. Having health insurance tied to employment gives employers unfair leverage in retaining employees. Countless Americans may be forced to stay at a job for fear of losing coverage. 5/

How many careers will be affected, stifled, stunted? How many will be forced to stay in unhealthy or abusive work environments due to fear of losing coverage & protections? Employers could oppress wage increases/promotions knowing their staff can't leave to keep coverage. 6/

And the #GOP is STILL trying to overturn #RoeVsWade. While the court is supposed to rule based on law & not personal opinions (religion, beliefs, etc,) #Trump continues to lean towards pro-life bullhorns which have publicly stated their desire to overturn the ruling. 7/

So much is on the line with just ONE #SCOTUS seat which is infuriating. The #GOP has no shame. We can't hold them to precedent THEY'VE set regarding nominations. They only care about themselves & power. 8/

The #GOP fears the potential losses in the WH & perhaps control of the Senate. They will attempt maximum damage between now & inauguration day, then claim ignorance or 'Trump made me do it' after the fact. DO NOT FORGET. DO NOT LET THEM OFF THE HOOK. 9/

Congress / WH are elected by the people & should be held accountable. We must not relent. We cannot back down. There's too much at stake today & for future generations. The #GOP is the party of 'ME.'
