#Russia's President #Putin delivered a pre-recorded video address to the 75th anniversary session of #UNGA
Here're some key points:

1/ Victory over Nazis helped construct post-war world order,lay out 5 principles:
- equality of sovereign states;
- non-interference w/ domestic affairs;
-the right of peoples to determine their own future;
- non-use of force or threat of force;
- political settlement of disputes

2/ Despite criticism:
-UN instrumental in protecting peace,promoting development,providing assistance in mitigating local crises;
-UN potential is"enormous",expertise is "relevant"
-UN should adapt to modern world realia that's getting more complicated,multipolar,multidimensional

3 /Security Council should:
- be more inclusive of interests & diversity of states' positions;
- continue to serve as the cornerstone of global governance, "which cannot be achieved unless the permanent members of the Security Council retain their veto power."

4/ 5 nuclear powers that have veto are victors of WWII:
- this remains indicative of the actual military & political balance to this day;
- it's an essential tool that helps prevent unilateral actions or at least avoid solutions that would be completely unacceptable to others

5/"Politicized attempts to arbitrarily interpret causes, course & outcomes of WWII,twist decisions of the conferences of the Allies and Nuremberg Tribunal are offending the memory of those who fought the Nazis & are devastating blow to foundation of the post-war world order

6/ With COVID19 we experiencing "a whole new challenge". Long-term consequences of social & economic shock yet to be assesed but it will take "a really,really long time to restore global economy",proven anti-crisis measures won't always work,we'll need new innovative solutions.

7/ The only way to elaborate such solutions is to work together. The idea of a "qualitative integrative growth", the ”integration of integrations“,is the one behind #Russia's initiative to form Greater Eurasian Partnership, it is purely pragmatic and increasingly relevant.

8/ #Russia now proposing to create ”green corridors“ free from trade wars and #sanctions, primarily for essential goods, food, medicine and personal protective equipment needed to fight the pandemic.

9/ Goal #1 is to ensure unemployment doesn't grow, long-term,that people return to work & can support their families.This is a most acute global social problem, so the politics has a mission now to pave the way for trade, joint projects and fair competition.

10/ Pandemic pinpointed series of ethical,tech & humanitarian matters. Digital tech helped reorganize education,trade & services; AI has assisted doctors in making more accurate and timely diagnoses and finding the best treatment. However....

11/ Like any other innovation, digital tech tend to spread uncontrollably and, just like conventional weapons, can fall into the hands of various radicals & extremists not only in the regional conflict zones,but also in quite prosperous countries, thus engendering enormous risks.

12/ Thus, cybersecurity issues should be central to the UN. Right to privacy,property & security critical in the new era. New tech should serve the humankind, right balance needed b/n encouraging AI development & justifiable restrictions to limit it.

13/ #Russia's "Sputnik-V” vaccine completely open to partner relations and willing to cooperate.
#Moscow thus proposes to hold "an online high-level conference shortly for countries interested in cooperation in the development of anti-coronavirus vaccines."

14/ #Russia offering to provide its vaccine, free of charge, for the voluntary vaccination of the staff of the #UN and its offices. (!!!)
"We have received requests from our UN colleagues in this respect, and we will respond to those."

15/ #Russia in talks w/ #US over future of START,but also expects "mutual restraint" with regard to deploying new missile systems. RU declared moratorium on deploying ground-launched medium & short-range missiles in Europe & other regions as long as #US refrains from such actions

16/ #Russia's 3rd proposal: "to sign a binding agreement between all the leading space powers that would provide for the prohibition of the placement of weapons in outer space, threat or use of force against outer space objects."

17/ #Russia's 4th proposal:convening G5 summit (UNSC members) to "reaffirm key principles of international behavior,elaborate ways to address today’s most burning issues"
"RUS expects to hold the summit in person as soon as epidemiological situation makes it possible"
/ END
