Week 1: Small, university-level grant submitted. Inducted as Green Fund Committee member at the university.
Week 2: Accepted a guest lecture invite in the department. Its about #schoolnutrition during the COVID-19 pandemic Inducted as Volunteer Mentor for Student Success at the university. #phdlife #52weeks
Week 3: Submitted an external grant with supervisors. Nominated my favorite professor for something. Found out my first pay period might be skipped. Will see what happens on 31st. Rewinded life memories with an old friend - a decade later! #phdlife #52weekchallenge Surviving.
Week 4: Draft script for my TEDx talk is ready. Pay issues are resolved. Submitted an abstract for a national conference. Finished reading one book out of the 20 pledged on @goodreads #phdlife #52weekchallenge
Week 5: Worked on a conference abstract. Still working on the third grant (this is taking forever). Went out with friends. No major accomplishments this week.
Week 6: Submitted a conference abstract. Reviewed a manuscript for a journal. Submitted a grant. Submitted a self-nomination. Threw a Lunar New Year Party! 🥳

Week 7: Submitted an IRB application. Finalized the TEDx script, sent audio recordings to a few closest friends and family members, they approved! Played (sleighed) in the snow (it's RARE in Mississippi!) ❄️☃️ Anxiety free! #phdjourney #phdlife #AcademicTwitter
Week 8: IRB approved, taxes filed, recruitment of study (pre-objective 1) participants begin. Appointed as Grad School Mental Health and Advisory Board Member. #phdjourney #phdlife #AcademicTwitter
Week 9: One instructorship assignment confirmed for fall. Hosted SNEB student division's happy hour. Hosted @Sumeet_kul's birthday. Attended a gardening seminar. #phdjourney #phdlife #AcademicTwitter
Week 10: Decided comps date (wow)! Held a trivia night for @ComSciConATL, figuring out $$ for summer, applied for a couple of positions (details later). One poster abstract accepted for SNEB conference! Got my first dose, GAVE A TEDX TALK! #phdjourney #phdlife #AcademicTwitter

Week 13: Panelist on Stronger Together Dialogue series. Celebrated the birthday of one of my super fav profs. One paper accepted. Planning for a conference session continues, details later!
Week 14: Got vaccinated. Conference abstract accepted. Wrapped up one course for the semester. Submitted IRB for a research project separate from my Ph.D. research. #phdchat #AcademicTwitter
Week 15: One application rejected (minor). Received #PhiKappaPhi honors cord (no induction ceremony). Gave a webinar. Took a weekend break that I will always cherish (not guilty!!) #phdchat #AcademicTwitter
Week 16: Received Critical Thinking Redesign grant. Received Summer Research Assistantship. Received Graduate Teaching Assistant Award. TEDx talk is finally out and it hit over 12k in a day!! It’s been one hell of a week!
