I'm going to start a thread 🧵 of reported violations against healthcare personnel and facilities in #Palestine (there have been numerous reports in #WestBank, #Gaza and #Jerusalem already). 🚑. I'll give sources. Please share if there are any I've missed. 👇

#NotATarget

The @PalestineRCS report today (12/05): "PRCS Central Warehouses as well as Gaza EMS Station were grossly damaged due to an israeli attack on a nearby location" in #Gaza. (photo below)

From East Jerusalem - reported yesterday (11/05): Israeli forces seen preventing @PalestineRCS team from accessing wounded. Several are physically pushed back by armed police.

An update from @PHRIsrael for @SafeguardingHC summarising incidents against @PalestineRCS in the West Bank inc. East #Jerusalem on 10/05: Prevention of access to the injured, an attack on the clinic in Al Aqsa, confiscation of equipment, physical assault: safeguardinghealth.org/physicians-hum…

Armed Israeli police casually lobbing a year gas grenade at an ambulance and medics. Another forcibly shoves a paramedic. The man filming shouts "they hit the ambulance".

Looks like East #Jerusalem, anyone seen this reported?

BTW, @MedicalAidPal's work tracking attacks on Palestinian healthcare and advocating for accountability depends hugely on our wonderful partners at @LPHR_Lawyers & @AlMezanCenter.

Infographic from @WHOoPt on attacks on healthcare in the OPT during Ramadan:
- 28 attacks in East #Jerusalem
- 15 in West Bank
- 3 in Gaza (including the bombing of the Hala al Shwa clinic)

37 health workers injured.

All committed with impunity.

Following the intense bombardment last night and attacks on civilian buildings, including in Al Wehda street close to Shifa Hospital, our team in #Gaza report that the head of the hospital's internal medicine unit Dr Ayman Abu Al Ouf was killed along with most of his children.

Now @MSF are reporting that one of their clinics in #Gaza was damaged yesterday which provided burns and trauma care. (haven't seen the location reported yet)

Ministry of Health is reporting that the primary healthcare centre in Al Daraj, #Gaza City, was attacked and its work suspended. Haven't seen photos yet.

Dr Yousef Abu Al-Rish, Deputy Health minister reports that targeting of roads leading to Al Shifa Hospital by Israel (the largest general hospital in #Gaza) has impeded emergency medical response.

Another doctor reportedly killed along with his children in #Gaza: Dr. Moeen Alalool, one of Gaza's few neurologists.

Re: the earlier post about the killing of Dr Ayman Abu Elouf of Al Shifa Hospital. Here is a heartbreaking photo of his colleagues paying their respects.

Statement from @WHOoPt on Israel's killing of doctors Ayman Abu al-Ouf, (head of internal medicine at Shifa Hospital) and Moen al-Aloul, (psychiatrist for MoH before retirement) in #Gaza. They have documented 74 attacks on Palestinian healthcare since the start of Ramadan.

Three updates from @PalestineRCS in #Gaza:
1) Bombing of roads emergency service access to shelled areas/hospitals
2) Targeted locations being hit again (seems like a return to 'double tap' from 2014), making it unsafe for teams to respond
(cont'd)

3) Bombing intensity is frustating emergency response: "consecutive shelling is preventing moving safely accordingly the teams are unable to provide the services; including needs assessment, Food and Non-Food Items; as well as the provision of Psychosocial First Aid."

🚨 Al Remal medical centre and a Ministry of Health building and the have been struck by Israel in #Gaza City. Lab staff and hotline staff injured - causing the suspension of #COVID19 testing and hotline. Photo via @MiddleEastEye below, with my photo c. 2016 comparison

The Al Shawwa building in from of the Ministry of Health building that was targeted also reportedly includes NGO offices that have been damaged. Here is @ThePCRF #Gaza

More from @MiddleEastEye "Senior Gaza health official Dr Yousef Abu al-Rish has said that Israel has destroyed the besieged territory’s only laboratory testing for the Coronavirus." All testing has apparently now stopped. #Gaza #COVID19

Here's what info we have, as reported by the MOH

Statement from the @QRCS on the shelling of their office in #Gaza yesterday, reporting that "two Palestinians were killed and wounding 10 Palestinian citizens."

An attack on healthcare amid the protests in the #WestBank today: @PalestineRCS report that one of their ambulances was targeted and damaged with live ammunition in Al Bireh today (photo below).

Also reported here: english.wafa.ps/Pages/Details/…

🚨🏥 Another in #Gaza 👇 Report of damage to the Hamad hospital - a rehabilitation hospital providing services and prostheses to people with disabilities. Services were stopped and patients evacuated for fear of their safety.

(Cont'd) Damage caused by bombing nearby rather than a hit on the hospital. Also reported here: gulf-times.com/story/691710/C…

The hospital was opened in 2019, funded by Qatar: aljazeera.com/news/2019/4/22…

Photos of the damage below.

I haven't kept on top of any developments today for this thread, but note the Ministry of Health in #Gaza reported today that 22 health facilities have been damaged or destroyed since 11 May

This one strikes close to home: A women's health clinic supported by @MedicalAidPal has damaged in Israel's bombing of Jabalia refugee camp last night. Our project provides access to services and counselling for women affected by GBV and breast cancer.

(Cond't) My colleague Wafa told us: "the center will not be able to deliver services until a ceasefire is announced and then they will need from 7-10 days to repair the damage of the center and also damage in the street."

More from @BBCNews on the killing of Dr Ayman Abu al-Ouf, head of internal medicine at Al Shifa Hospital who was overseeing COVID-19 response. His mother, farther, wife and two children were killed, leaving his 15-year-old son Omar. A devastating read.
