12/13: HE Dr. Yasmine Fouad closes out the ceremony with a stark message on the gender gap in Africa. “70% of the continent's food is produced by women, but they represent only 15% of the land holders. Women safeguard water, food, and shelter.”

12/12: In her final remarks, Dr. Fouad notes progress. “We are 54 countries in Africa and we now have around 20 female ministers working towards the health of the environment,” expressing optimism that this figure grows.
