Hey ya
Hey yaaa
Guys... the replies here are slightly disconcerting. YES, it is a song reference. The song is 2003 hit, “Hey Ya” by OutKast.
Some of you are mistakenly referencing, “What Dreams Are Made Of” performed by Hilary Duff from the soundtrack of, ‘The Lizzie McGuire Movie.’
It’s a bit early in the day for this, but I’m gonna walk you through it anyway.
While both songs were released in 2003, the lyrics of, “What Dreams Are Made Of” are clearly:
“Hey now, hey now.”
NOT...
“Hey ya, hey yaaa.”
Any discerning OutKast or “The Lizzie McGuire Movie” fan should be able to tell the difference. Both are great in their own way - we must respect their differences.
I’m on a plane getting ready to take off and I’m temporarily ignoring the flight attendant’s request to switch to “airplane mode.” Simply put, I’m jamming out this educational seminar because I care about you guys.
Also, I got 2 hours of sleep last night and I’m just trying to keep myself entertained until I pass out on this flight. *END SCENE*
