How Total is integrating #climate into its strategy?
1/6 We are positioned in fast-growing #lowcarbon markets, which means we offer an #energy mix whose carbon intensity is steadily decreasing.
2/6
In support of this change, we have created a tool for measuring the #carbon intensity of the #energy products we make available to our customers. That metric indicates the average of our products’ greenhouse gas emissions.
3/6 ➡ Total has set a goal of reducing that #carbon intensity by 15% between 2015 – date of the #ParisAgreement – and 2030. Then, depending on developments in technology and public policies, reach a reduction of 25 to 35% by 2040.
4/6 This trajectory constitutes Total’s responsible contribution on the road to the objectives set out in the #ParisAgreement, while also allowing us to fulfill our mission of supplying affordable, reliable and clean #energy to as many people as possible.
5/6 To do this, we will be focusing on 5 major drivers:
1⃣ Improved #energyefficiency
2⃣ Integrated expansion across the #naturalgas value chain
3⃣ Strengthened presence in lowcarbon #electricity
4⃣ Fossil fuel #decarbonization
5⃣ Carbon storage #CCS
6/6
With the ambition to become the responsible energy major, Total is developing a blend of solutions and is building a comprehensive and diversified response that will deliver long-term growth.
