Today, I have signed into law S. 3191, the “Civil Rights Cold Case Records Collection Act of 2018” (the “Act”). The Act provides for the review and, where possible, the release of records of criminal investigations relating to alleged Federal civil rights violations between..
1940 and 1980 (“cold case records”). These records, however, include information in the possession of any branch of the Government and could encompass even recently created records that “relate to” alleged civil rights violations from that period.

these 12 innovative projects will reduce capital costs and accelerate the innovation cycle by testing new concepts. Marine energy includes ocean wave power, tidal, and river/ocean current devices that convert movement of water into electricity.

I think it's worth noting that

1) Duke Energy has a legal monopoly on the energy market in NC

2) McCrory (R) worked for Duke his entire non-gov't career (28 yrs)

3) NC is in the path of a HUGE, Duke-backed frack gas pipeline build

4) McCready (D) ... runs a solar energy firm.
Should he make it to Congress, McCready will be part of a D-dominated House. That House has a mandate to pass a Green New Deal and require FERC (agency in charge of approving pipelines) to give more than the casual rubber-stamp treatment they've given to pipelines to date.

He doesn’t understand how the “Law and Order” GOP morphed into the attack-the-FBI & obstruct justice GOP.


🙋‍♀️I can explain. The problem is how he’s defining Law and Order.
1/ Remember Watergate? Iran-Contra? Nixon’s obstruction of justice? Scooter Libby’s perjury?

GOP leadership has a history of disregarding laws.

Conservatives also never liked the idea of regulating banks and industry.
They were never the party of Mortgage Broker Law and Order.
2/ So what kind of Law and Order did the GOP embrace?

According to this law review article, Nixon and Reagan’s Tough on Crime policy was a “backlash against the Civil Rights Movement."

One family had arranged a suitable subletting arrangement when they suddenly had to move across the country to care for a terminally ill brother.

Everything was fine until the respondents met the other family.
