@Telugutalli Surya pratima drawn with Rangoli. Milk to be heated on dungcakes so that it boils & spills over on the cake. We perform abhisheka on Vishnu (purusha sukta+vishnu sukta), Shiva (rudra), Ganapati (atharvasheersha), Surya (atharvasheersha) and Devi (shri sukta) everyday anyways.
@Telugutalli this drawing of pratima, heating milk etc are "laukika" rituals. Part of Maharashtrian culture (some parts of it, some sections of society). It will vary from place to place and caste to caste..

The spilling of milk signifies abundance of it. Also performed during grihapravesha
@Telugutalli The Nitya puja part (I've given only puraaNokta version of Puja on blog. Typically we combine it with vedokta Purushasukta verses and digbanda, shaD-anga nyaasa, prithvi vandana, Bhoota-utsaadana etc). It is pretty standard. Has all the necessary links
