About thirteen hours ago, I conveyed to Nigerians the decision of INEC to reschedule the 2019 General Elections by one week. Presidential and National Assembly earlier scheduled for 16th February 2019 will now hold on Saturday 23rd February 2019 while Governorship, State Assembly
and FCT Area Council Elections scheduled for 2nd March 2019 will now hold on Saturday 9th March 2019. The one-week adjustment was a painful one for INEC but necessary in the overall interest of our democracy.
Nigerians will recall that when this Commission was appointed in November 2015, we promised Nigerians two cardinal things. First, we shall work hard to consolidate the improvements made in the management of elections in Nigeria since 2011.

Breaking:
For the avoidance of all doubts, INEC will only recruit ad-hoc staff for the 2019 elections from well known institutions as follows:
1. Youth Corps members - from the NYSC.
2. Students - from federal govt-owned tertiary educational institutions.
3. Federal civil servants - from federal govt agencies, including tertiary educational institutions in the states of recruitment.

The requests for these potential ad-hoc staff are made directly to the various institutions.
INEC has not and does not intend to request applications from individuals to be considered for this assignment.

Any information or publication stating otherwise is false and should be disregarded.

The angst, I can tell everyone that cares to listen that what Nigeria is doing is a necessary evil that cannot be avoided given the poverty occasioned by bad governance in most of these countries. Someone will ask if we are any better? Yes. We are.
Let me explain with election issues, an area I consider myself, with due respect and humility, an expert( haters , hug transformer). Data from INEC reveals that so far, about 10.5m new registrants will be added to the nation’s Voters Register , bringing the total to over 80m.

I schooled at University of Ado-Ekiti.

Worked in Ado Ekiti

Married in Ado Ekiti.

I witnessed Fayose-Oni-Fayemi-Fayose administrations.

So, i am rooted here.
Again, i studied political science and i have been involved with 4 Elections in Ekiti: 2011, 2014, 2015, 2018 as either INEC's ad hoc staff or observer.

So, i am at a vantage position of analysing voting behaviour/pattern of Ekiti people.
