(3/7) As we celebrate the International Women’s’ Day I congratulate the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria on its new Nigerian Code of Corporate Governance 2018, Sect 2.4 which states as follows:
(4/7) "2.4. The board should promote diversity in its membership across a variety of attributes relevant for promoting better decision-making and effective governance. #IWD2019 #WomenWithWings
(5/7) These attributes include field of knowledge, skills and experience as well as age, culture and gender. The board should have a policy to govern this process and establish measurable objectives for achieving diversity in gender and other areas’’. #IWD2019 #WomenWithWings
(6/7) I call on all Oil and Gas companies in Nigeria to increase the number of FEMALES serving on their boards and in senior management. There also has to be a policy in place to set gender diversity targets and periodically monitor their achievements. #IWD2019 #WomenWithWings
