The district court was probably correct as a matter of constitutional law and separation of powers, but it is critically important that states criminalize the barbaric practice of female genital mutilation (FGM) and enforce those criminal laws. Torturing girls is not a religion.
The connection between female genital mutilation (FGM) and Islam is as remote as the connection between terrorism and Islam. The overwhelming majority of Muslim Americans don’t sympathize with people who commit either crime. We can enforce our laws without being bigots.
The comparison of female genital mutilation (FGM) with circumcising male infants is not only medically incorrect but a disgusting excuse for allowing the torture of young girls. Women’s rights advocates should be outraged.
The states should enforce criminal laws against FGM now.

The House should get the discovery that courts won’t allow private plaintiffs:
subpoena all executive branch documents relevant to Trump’s travel ban.
Then go back to court to show that it is a Muslim travel ban and unconstitutional.

@NBCNews The argument that Trump’s country specific travel ban is not an attack on Muslims because of terrorism is as plausible as the argument that BDS targeting Israel because of the Middle East conflict is not anti-Semitic.

We have intentionally obscured the unambiguously clear, unifying message of the New Testament, in all of its diversity—that God’s agenda is to transfigure the world through nonviolent, self-sacrificial love. That is the Jesus way. There is simply no way around this.
I mostly have tried not to put this in divisive terms. But at this point, I find it hard to take any Christian teacher/teaching that doesn’t take nonviolence seriously. How will you instruct me if you have no regard for the rightful Lord of the Church?
If you have a theology of atonement that you like, congratulations. If you have prophets who perform miracles or give words of knowledge, good for you. If the nonviolent sacrificial love of Jesus is not the central message, I am not interested.

The left is in full-on outrage mode now. Calls for violence are spreading, and intimidation tactics are being called for by actual elected officials. I would advise them to think VERY carefully about their next steps.
The anger on the left is vocal, strident and ubiquitous. What they don’t seem to understand is that the anger on the right is FAR more white hot. Americans are sick and tired of being lied to by their leaders. They’re sick and tired of being taken advantage of.
When the right gets angry, it doesn’t get violent (in most cases.) It gets more and more determined. All of this sound and fury from the left for ridiculously UN-American policies is building a tsunami on the right.
