"Late" não significa apenas "tarde" ou "atrasado"

Pois é! Late também tem um significado que muitos alunos de inglês no Brasil podem ainda não saber: falecido!

E é muito usado numa aplicação mais formal! Segue a thread:
- This school was named after the late Mr John Edward
- Esta escola recebeu o nome do falecido Sr John Edward

- That in the picture is the late George Hulmann
- Aquele na foto é o falecido George Hulmann
Como adjetivo, a palavra "late" também terá esse significado.

Então lembrem-se:

To be late……………….estar atrasado

It’s late………………….está tarde.

The late Sir Robin…….o falecido Sir Robin

Ok? So don’t be late (em todos os aspectos…)
