The Voice of Sheikh Salih Fawzan Al-Fawzan (RH):

THE VIRTUES OF THE MONTH OF MUHARRAM 🌙🌙

1/ This month of Muharram has so many virtues, one of which is fasting this month.

The Noble Prophet (SAW) said:

"The most rewarding fasting after Ramadhan is fasting in Muharram."
2/ It is recommended that we intensify fasting in this blessed month. It is as well one of the 'sacred months'. This month was selected by the Sahabah from the time of Umar (RA) to be the 1st month in the Hijri (Islamic) calendar.
3/ This month has so many virtues. One of the virtues is the fasting of Aashoorah (10th Muharram), a fasting that the Noble Prophet (SAW) informed us that it cleanses the sins of the past year. Prophet Musa (Moses) (AS) has fasted this day of 10th, thanking Allah for rescuing
4/ him from Pharaoh by sinking the latter in the sea. Thus, Prophet Moses fasted this day, thanking Allah (SWT). After Moses, the Jews have also fasted this day. However, when our Noble Prophet (SAW) arrived Madinah upon his migration, he saw the Jews fasting the day & he asked:
5/ "What is this fasting for?" They said, " It is a day Allaah Has strengthened Moses & his followers & humiliates Pharaoh & his followers. Moses (AS) has fasted it, so we are also fasting it."

The Prophet (SAW) then said:

"We (Muslims) are more entitled to Moses than you".
6/ And therefore, the Prophet (SAW) fasted that day & ordered Muslims to fast it too. Thus, fasting this day became a highly recommended Sunnah.

However, the Prophet (SAW) intends that we oppose the Jews in their forms of worship, so he ordered us to fast a day before it,
7/ that is on the 9th. In another narration, "a day after it", on the 11th. However, fasting on 9th is more established. Therefore, fasting this day (10th) on the 9th is a Sunnah of the Prophets of Allah Moses & Muhammad (Peace be upon them both).
8/ May Allah accept from us.

May Allah wipe out all our sins and make us among the best Muslims.

I ATE OUT OF FORGETFULNESS IN RAMADHAAN! 😢

Out of the mercy of Allaah SWT, He said at the end of Surat Al-Baqarah:

“Our Lord! Punish us not if we forget or fall into error” [Baqarah 2:286].

In Saheeh Bukhaari, the Noble Prophet (SAW) said: Allah SWT said, "I have done that".
Thus, one who does anything that Allaah SWT prohibited out of forgetfulness, or forget to do another thing which Allaah SWT Has commanded would not be held responsible by the merciful Rabb. This, includes one who does something out of mistake, or mistakenly left another.
Abu Hurayrah (RA) narrated that the Prophet (SAW) said:

“Whoever forgets that he is fasting & eats or drinks, let him complete his fast, for the One Who fed him & gave him to drink was Allaah.”

(Bukhaari & Muslim).

Dear Muslim sister,

Finishing your degree, then NYSC & not having a date for your wedding doesn't make you less a beautiful, valuable, honorable & virtuous Muslimah. This shouldn't depress you nor make you settle for anyone simply because you want to get married.
This also shouldn't make you look down on yourself as unworthy or regret some of the hard but beneficial decisions you have made in your life. Where you are today has been destined by Allaah 500 years (or so) before the creation of the universe. Don't feel left out. Not at all.
Heartbreaks, disappointments, mistakes, unhappiness are all part of life. Every human passes through them albeit at different levels & on different complexity scales. So why feel hard on yourself? You are already a champion right where you are. Do not give up.

CALL IT HIKING OR WHATEVER, IF IT INVOLVES INTERMINGLING OF MEN & WOMEN, IT IS HARAM

1. In the laws of Islam, the crowding together in one place, mixing, & intermingling of men and women & the revealing and exposure of women to men is HARAM.
2. As a rudiment, the shariah prohibits acts that themselves lead to Haram. Mixing & intermingling of opposite sexes are prohibited because they are key to fitnah (temptations which lead to evil consequences), the arousing of desires, committing indecent acts and wrongdoing.
3. Among the numerous evidences of prohibition of mixing of both sexes, the noble Prophet (SAW) enforced separation of men & women even at Allaah’s most revered & preferred place, the Masjid. This was done by separating the women’s rows from those of men.

2. Allaah {SWT} Has created us all differently. As the imperfect humans that we are, we have strengths in some areas of our lives & we are weak in others. Some of us have the ability to managing stress or difficult emotions, while some are utterly weak in those areas.
3. For some, acting on strong raw emotions in a destructive manner and lack of emotional regulation is a norm. The way some people quarrel with people outwardly is the same way they do quarrel them inwardly. How often do you see people fall & collapse from a rage in an argument?

Dear Husband,

Do you know that it is WAAJIB (compulsory / obligatory) to satisfy your wife's sexual desire?

In his Mughni, Ibn Qudaamah (RH) said: 

Intercourse is obligatory upon the man if he has no (valid) excuse (like sickness).  

Al-Mughni, 7/30.
Treating one's wife kindly & reasonably is an obligation on us, like Salaat, fasting & others. That kind & reasonable treatment includes intercourse.

The majority of Islamic scholars set a time limit a husband must not exceed without having sex with his wife as 4 months.
The most correct view however, is that there is no time limit; the husband should have intercourse with his wife according to what satisfies her.

Al-Jassaas said:

He is obliged to have intercourse with her, because what Allaah {SWT} says in Suratu Nisa’ 4:129.
