The Federalist is defending the Salem Witch Trials.

Other than the fact the the crime of witchcraft was based in the vilest document ever penned in western Christendom (Malleus Maleficarum) and ghosts testified for the prosecution, well, cool.

When you get to the point that Malleus is considered "fairer" than the US Constitution, you've lost it.

Even if you defend yourself by saying it is sarcasm. It isn't funny to the hundreds of thousands who were murdered by state & church as witches. Like one of my ancestors.
It isn't a joke. None of this is joke.
Hundreds of thousands is the low estimate; others range up to 3 million people. So, the Federalist is making a joke about what amounted to a gynocide in their "funny" defense of Trump. There really isn't much lower than this.
