I don’t know where to start on what the most amazing parts are, but this stands out: the Times met in-person with a source three times and kept up an apparently vigorous digital correspondence with the man, but was never able to identify him.
Also all these reporters and lawyers are passing around the source’s images purportedly of famous men having sex with minors—not knowing whether they’re real or fake—and discussing ways to profit from them without apparent concern for the substantial legal risks of that behavior.
In which the reporters are told that a very short Icelandic man is bringing to the NYT Building servers loaded with child pornography—and armed with a self-destruct capability—that have been shipped to Manhattan by boat. They clear their schedules to watch the tapes.
