1. This thread is wrong. To start with, the "house divided" speech launched Lincoln's 1858 Senate campaign, it wasn't during the war. The last thing Lincoln was arguing for in 1858 was crushing the slaveowners.
2. Lincoln worked hard in 1858-60 to position himself as making a modest, even conservative, case: restrict further expansion of slavery to establish the principle of its wrongness & prevent its growth. His speech made clear that the slave power was the aggressor:

1. Some good points here, but mixes some apples & oranges. "Motive" is a slippery standard for impeachment; issue should be whether he used public power for objectively improper purposes.

2. Trump has, in fact, expanded executive power much less than his predecessors, and untangling the long-term expansion involves distinguishing which powers properly belong to Congress or courts, vs which shouldn't be federal powers at all.
3. We should be alarmed at making subjective "motive" the standard for impeachment; it's child's play to attribute the worst possible motives to opponents, yet hard to prove to bipartisan satisfaction.

Before Jailbreak Hussie was just one in a sea of mostly forgotten Webcomic hopefuls who most wouldn't have figured would have amounted to much.

In these days, Megatokyo was still popular (I would like to apologise on behalf of all 00s kids for that)
Penny Arcade and CAD had dominated the webcomic scape with "gamer humor" (Loss was still years away at this point) and in terms of overarching webcomic epics; Order of the Stick was probably at the top of the pile; serving as critical role before critical role.

It's honestly so fresh for a book about wolves. Silver, our heroines is a wolf who has never been offland--she's way more comfortable as a wolf than in "skins." The hero, Tiberius, is a shifter who will be killed if she doesn't help him.

One of the questions I was asked yesterday as part of IWD was what did I bring back from my time working in the US. Many people probably expected me to talk about the new techniques & skills I learned. While those are indeed very important & are part of the package of an (1)
(2) international fellowship in great institutions like HMS I think the most important thing was that trolleys & lists were denormalized for me during my time in Boston. I never saw a patient waiting for a hospital bed on a trolley! Nobody waited longer than 6 weeks.
(3) there is huge pride & self esteem that comes with working in a system that works for patients. I know that we can, IF we all work together, transform our healthcare system from where it is now, to one where everyone has timely access to high quality care.
