Did you know that SAA was Looted R6.4 BN by Aerosud in a Five Year Irregular Contract meant for SAA to buy 8 Military Transport Aircraft from European Aircraft Giant, Airbus. Herman Mashaba owns 54% out of 68% of the BEE transaction deal with Aerosud that looted Billions from SAA
Aerosud benefited substantially in recent years from the Department of Trade and Industry in the : Industrial participation policy with contracts worth R4 Billion in Five Years.
These contracts flow almost entirely from the offset obligations created by the state or parastatal aircraft purchases, notably SAA’s acquisition of Boeing Passenger Jets. The SANDF planned acquisition of a fleet of Airbus A400M military transport aircraft.

I've been busy but I've come out of my shell to dispel some myths and conjured tales. People like to cite the disputedly higher IPP cost per kWh (all-inclusive) charged to Eskom for electricity versus coal price(a price exclusive of all runtime environment variables). .. A THREAD
Anti-IPP agents like @koko_matshela have been intentionally ill-informing their political bases for political mileage, using their "I'm an Engineer" lines to add some perceived weight to the nonsense they spew. This is dangerous. Im going to discuss this in 3 parts. Lets BEGIN.
Firstly, an irrelevant fact doesn't justify a stupid view. The sky being currently blue as a fact has no bearing on the reasons why I didn't have a Valentine's date. Both are facts but no causal relationship exists. Let's extend this to the @Eskom_SA debacle Vs IPPs.

Until 2001, Eskom was not subjected to taxes, dividends or other typical commercial imperatives. Eskom did not have to bear the full economic opportunity cost of capital employed to finance its investments (incl risk).
It was able to amortise debt while maintaining artificially low electricity prices.
