@Jason @tailpath So many issues w/blockchain inventory tracking systems. The biggest is the underlying premise: distrust. Tech can't fix unknown/distrusted partners in the value chain. This is a vetting issue, not a tracking one. But it's also one that goes away with consolidation, scale & time.
@Jason @tailpath Over time, most businesses trade with known parties, not unknown ones, where the use case for blockchain (and cryptocurrency) goes away.

@Jason @tailpath A good analogy is payment wallets. A bunch of 3rd parties tried creating them, but if more & more shopping moves to Amazon & Walmart & each stores your card info for future purchases (ditto for iPhone+Android), the only wallet market left is w/less trustworthy, small vendors.

H-1Bs don't officially make workers indentured & underpaid; just unofficially. Workers can only switch to other companies that will pay to sponsor visas. Many don't. So:
- That reduced market
- Extra cost
- Transactional friction

Limit their options & pay.
Because many H1B workers arrive without families (or at least extended families), they tend to work longer hours, so companies get more bang for the buck.

How much buck?

I've been keeping this twitter thread on corporate amorality, but I haven't given nearly enough thought to our own amorality.

A brief thread on our little hypocrisy.

I've been as guilty as others on Twitter...

All our actions must be viewed in context of our obligations—to our kids, spouses, communities, friends, nation, humans, employers. Likely, in that order.

It's why I've argued there is no evil. We all believe we're doing our best for at least 1 of those.

Anyone who's soul mind can generate the perception of illusory victory through the abuse and manipulation of anyone who cannot defend themselves, respond, or be heard for the truth, shares a place with those who do that with children. There is no way around this, in any dimension
It's the same thing and if you take the same mind, fractal render the next potential octave, because power levels increase through these events, anyone with the weakness to false power and abuse is doing that. That's why this had to happen.
That's why there has been some vocalization regarding the 'citizen' level abuse and manipulation by those who are essentially trolling. Those are the next level 'dark mafia' 'fake reality' false authority crime and debauchery 'bosses' that would currently be building dakrness.

When I first took on the job for Nada salon with the ad, I will admit, I was naive to believe in the concept laid out to me. I was told that our shoot would be the first of several representations of diversity. It was a massive platform and an opportunity for someone who looked -
- like myself to feel represented. I took it selfishly. When the shoot came out, I felt shot at. The term diversity was plastered lazily on it, and "androgynous" was a term sloppily slapped along with my photo like it was a cool, hip trend.
It failed to understand or represent what that means in terms of the consequences I face for looking a certain way. How I appear isn't a fashion statement; not when I live in constant fear for that simple fact.

1/ It’s simple to note: One has to subtract before adding. Give up what’s bad, before thinking about adding what’s good. True for habits, food, news and everything else.
#life 2/ We live in a world with many apparent "signals”.

We’re consuming:
- More info/news/entertainment
- More food
- More social networking
- More things to-do/work...

…than prior generations. It’s making us lazy and critically, disengaged.
#life 3/ It’s unclear what the signal to noise ratio is - it’s a function of one’s own consumption habits.

And separately, we’re prone to setting additional goals too:
- Read good books
- Eat a healthy diet
- Have fewer but better friends
- Work smart

The apparent death of journalist Jamal Khashoggi at the hands of the Saudi government is appalling. I’ve joined colleagues on the Foreign Relations Committee to seek sanctions against anyone involved in this horrific act.
Anyone involved must be held accountable and that means rejecting any attempt to shield decision makers from responsibility. The targeting of a well-known journalist & critic would undoubtedly need approval from the highest levels of the Saudi government.
For several years I've voted to block arms sales to Saudi Arabia over human rights abuses & killings of innocent civilians in Yemen. This tragedy raises more concerns over Saudi actions & reinforces the need to stop future arms sales & reassess our relationship with the Saudis.
