#1. An engg college student Y befriends college/hostelmate M. His whole group gradually softens up to M. Guy named F who happens to belong to M's faith, picks a tiff with Y. Y approaches M to calm tempers.
@VertigoWarrior F, however sets Y to get a proper ol' college beatdown. He assembles his fellow faith friends in a special room. Lulled by faith and charismatic oratory, these recruits spread out in the campus. They take advantage of a final year farewell party to remain undetected.
@VertigoWarrior F's supporters build a fail-proof plan - Y is to be nabbed in his hostel room, where he is all alone, away from the party. They call more outsider friends, bringing the total number of recruits to 60+, thinking they might need reinforcement in case the farewell party erupts.

So Pastor Chris said "Husband means master" and people said "It's in the bible" but did any of Jesus teachings really support that line of thought? I did some digging and the answer is no.

Over, the last 3 days. I've heard a lot about how having a penis makes one an automatic superior. One guy even said yesterday that man was created first so that makes him superior, as if the first car ever manufactured is better than the 2017 model.
So I decided for once to examine gender equality right from the religious (biblical) perspective and I found some really interesting stuff.

First off, God designed both the man and woman in His own image equally (Genesis 1:26–27).

@islaybookfest said I’d tell you about growing up as an Edinburgh Gael. It’s a tricky subject for me, because it’s a very personal thing and I get tied up in knots trying to explain. But deep breath, here goes (thread):
Till I was 5 I was fully bilingual, but my dad was the only Gaelic-speaker in my life. There were bodaich who came round for a dram and a song, but we were always packed straight off to bed. There was nothing in my east Edinburgh neighbourhood to make sense of me.
When I went to primary school I stopped speaking Gaelic, but Dad didn’t. So I became a fluent listener. And when we moved to Peebles for my high school years, any chance of being part of a Gaelic community was blown. I had this sense of not being in any way a *real* Gael.

A bilingual sign tells you more than just where you need to go.

It tells you a country has more than one native language.

It tells you how the names for places are connected, or sometimes not, between languages.

It teaches you what others call that place in their language.
It demonstrates that the country values linguistic diversity and equality between linguistic communities.

It may tell you that you are entering a place whether another language is more predominent.
It tells you that you may expect to hear another language or experience another culture upon arrival.

It may tell you that folk spoke a now minoritised language in a place before the dominant majority language.

I keep thinking back to a discussion a few months on reddit about THE BELGARIAD. Several comments were made about it being cliche and pedestrian, and someone said, “Yeah, it’s a fine story, but it’s never going to be a classic.”
And all I could think to respond was, “It’s over thirty years later and we’re still talking about it. How is that NOT ‘a classic’?
But that got me thinking- I cite THE BELGARIAD (and THE MALLOREON, its sequel series) as one of my influential works. But what is that influence? I know I’ve read the whole series several times. My copies of the books are in terrible shape.
