I hope we have a reset during this pandemic lockdown. I hope people learn to cook and garden and fix things themselves. I hope people realise that office buildings are largely unnecessary because most of the work that is done in them can be done from home. 1/8
I hope people discover that their co-workers and bosses and employees are real people with all the quirky things at home that no one in the work environment ever gets to see under normal circumstances. 2/8
I hope everyone learns that people are more important than profit and we need to rewire our systems to reflect that. 3/8
I hope people gain a lasting appreciation of the public employees working in health care and education, and the folks working in grocery stores & delivery companies & farms & food preparation, & demand wages for these people commensurate with their importance to our society. 4/8
I hope we establish a basic guaranteed minimum income so the governments never have to scramble to make sure people are housed and fed in the face of a crisis again. I hope people remember that actors, artists, authors, dancers, and musicians helped get us all through this. 5/8
I hope people learn that conservative governments like the UCP are not good for society. I hope we all realise we can get by just fine with fewer consumer disposable products. 6/8
I hope people who didn't respect the personal space and bodily autonomy of others learn to keep their hands to themselves. 7/8
I hope we love the clearer skies and waterways caused by the cessation of human activity enough to keep it going... 8/8
